Not all the pieces are in place yet, but I am re-launching AuthorBoost, hopefully in October.

Now, that doesn't mean that this years was not a success, I think it most certainly was (and I'd hope that Aaron agreed), but it's not enough.

I want to find a way to help more than a single author a year (not that single author isn't important, they are. Perhaps the most). So the new AB will be a donation model.  I still plan to put up $1000 of my own next year, but with the new plan people will be able to donate and help year 'round.

The idea is that once the donations hit a certain level (for example $1K) a Round (working name) is triggered. When that happens a call goes out for authors to submit and we go through the process same as we did this time with a small exception; anyone that donated in that block will get a chance to vote on which of the stories gets funded.

I still need to work out what the donors get. First thought is that each donor in the block gets a digital copy of the book. But what happens if you don't like the book? If it's Romance and you only read Sci-Fi. Or it's horror and you don't like horror?

So a few details to tweak but the site re-design is underway and the model is being worked out. I'll let you know as things progress.
